I have been a lazy-butt artist lately, and to start things off, I apolgize for that.
So, to update all this stuff... I need to post some recent artwork. Anything that I've created at this point, but have not posted, I will post as soon as possible. LOL... I need some serious psych help, but we won't get into that... just kidding! :D
here we go...

I'm not too happy with this entry because it's very sloppy in appearance and I generally don't like it. I seriously threw this together in like, an hour. That amount of time does NOT make good art people *frowns at self*... *sobs*.
NEXT IMAGE PLEASE.

Okay... this is one of my absolute favorite altered book entries.
In my world religions class, I have some groupies that are creatively artistic, so we have a book that we cut magazine pictures out and paste them in. My friend gave me the idea of altering an actual image, so I cut out the image you see on the left and altered the colors using Staedtler brand colored liners. I added the orange, red, and black to the lips and eye lid, the red heart, and I added blue to the originally green eye. The image on the right of M.I.A is an image transfer. I thought that it exeplified expressing yourself, so I thought it was appropriate for this entry. The overall purpose of the entry was to express how different people express themselves differently, and that anything from any given person can be beautiful.
NEXT.

I'm just going to be forward with this. I HATE this entry. The left side isn't that bad, but the general design of the dress on the right bothers me. It just does. It's annoying.
This ties in with the previous entry about the car that is possible in 2030. This is entitled tha threadz to match.
I don't like it, so I don't really have much else to say about it. Arg.
So yeah. That's pretty much it for the moment. Hang in there- I know you're just dying to see more. HA! Just kidding.
More updates as soon as possible.
"The great alex has spoken!" LOL.
PS- excuse the images... the resizing has decided to murder them and eat them for lunch. GRAWRAPABLAR. *munch, munch, munch*
It's interesting to me how we differ in opinions. I think your car entry was strong in that the quick, expressive marks mimicked the the idea of a fast car. The primary colors also help to bring a level of excitement to it. You are right in that good art is not directly related to the time put in-- this works both ways.
ReplyDeleteIndividually, the pages of the fashion entry are good, but not that interesting. Together, though, it is a strong piece. As a personal reflection, I've often thought that anything done in multitude makes the individuals a bit more valuable. I think Warhol would agree.
Thanks... It's neat how you have a completely different perspective on it than how I thought of it when I was creating it. Thank you. :D
